The day we all waited for is finally here! The energy on these grounds is contagious, and we want you to be a part of the fun! If you weren’t already excited about the fact that tomorrow is the first day of the 2012 North Dakota State Fair, here are some highlights of the many happenings. There is truly something for everyone!
What is the best part about the North Dakota State Fair? The food of course! Sample the latest and greatest foods the fair has to offer! 8 entries throughout the Fair Grounds will be competing for the title of “best new fair food” in our Food Frenzy Competition. Join us for the judging as local celebrities sample all the new foods and crown a winner on July 20th at 10:00am. Throughout the rest of the fair, keep your eyes peeled for large blue and white signs denoting the Food Frenzy Contestants and the enormous 4 foot ribbons awarded to the winners!
Is a scrumptious sandwich what you crave? Then come on our to the Fleishmann’a Yeast Sensational Sandwich Bread Contest! Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the Sandwich in 2012 with some best-ever sandwich bread! The festivities begin at 1pm in the North Dakota State Fair Center. Prizes await the 6 most sensational sandwich bread entries at the fair… and 1st place earns a shot at a $1000 grand prize!
If food is not your forte, try the 2012 Miss Rodeo Competition on for size! The competition will begin at 1:00pm in the North Dakota State Fair Center, where the contestants will compete in a number of categories including horsemanship and a question answer round. So come on out and cheer on your favorite cowgirl… this is one show you are not going to want to miss!
Calling all night owls! The state’s largest carnival will again be hosting Midnight Madness until 2am. You
can use your Mega Ride Pass, Daily Unlimited Ride Wristband or purchase individual ride tickets to get in on the fun!
Don’t forget about our free stages and commercial buildings! We have everything from Divas to Dip Mix, Alligators to Aqua Massagers. Times and locations vary, so make sure you pick up your daily schedule before you start all the fun!
Kid Rock with Special Guest Unkle Kracker will be rocking the grandstand stage at 8pm! Standing Room tickets are $55 and Reseved Seating is $65.
