Four amateur cake decorators came to the North Dakota State Fair Center Sunday to showcase their talents. Each of the four contestants brought a different “On the Farm” look to their neatly decorated cakes. The crowd was amazed at how the simple frosted cakes progressively became extravagant over the one hour and thirty minutes that the contestants had to decorate their cakes. The judges determined Tracy Fitzpatrick the first place winner for this first year event at the Fair. Tracy also won the People’s Choice award with her farm scene cake that featured a barn, cows, and fence. Second place honors went to Jennifer Rath, and third place was awarded to Tami Helmers. Congratulations to these ladies for demonstrating their hard work at the Fair! All four cakes are on display in the 4-H Hall for the duration of the Fair, so get to the State Fair Center to check them out!
