The North Dakota State Fair is looking for the top bakers in the state! Back from 2009 is the First Lady’s Pie Contest. The First Lady will be kicking off the contest in the State Fair Center Lobby at 1 pm on July 24th, and a panel of experienced pie tasters will decide who is going to take home the top prize. Cash prizes totaling $600 will be awarded to the top three winners, along with North Dakota State Fair aprons. Last year’s prize winning pie was a peach kuchen pie, deemed the first place champion by first lady Mikey Hoeven. New this year is a category for best appearance, so pretty-up those delectable pies and bring them in at 11 am on Saturday, July 24!
