75th Anniversary of the Columbia Sheep Breeders of America Show and Sale. This annual event has been held in Minot 14 other times in the past 75 years. There will be 200 livestock exhibitors from across the United States bestowing on Minot for the first week in June for their annual show and sale. 400 of Columbia sheep will be on display. Join us as there will be sheep to purchase and crafts and wool items too.
Diamond Jubilee Schedule:
All events will be held at the North Dakota State Fair grounds. The activities will formally get underway at 10 a.m. on Thursday June, 9, with a Junior Show and will feature competition in ram, ewe and lamb classes as well as having a showmanship division.
Production ewe and ram shows will follow the junior shows. Judge for the junior show and production shows will be Doug Peterson.
Then, at 3 p.m., the wool show will take place and will be judged by LeRoy Johnson. Finally, the annual Columbia Sheep Breeders Association meeting will be held at 5 p.m., followed by a host barbeque at the fairgrounds.
Friday’s activities start at 8 a.m. with the National Columbia Show with Tim Faller as judge. This competition will be highlighted by the champion pair of ewes, champion ewe selection and the champion ram selection. The day’s events will conclude with the banquet at 6:30 at the Holiday Inn Riverside.
Saturday, June 11 is sale day. It begins with the consignor meeting at 9:30 a.m. followed by the National Columbia Sale with Danny Westlake as auctioneer.
