Visit the Air National Guard!

Visit the Air National Guard booth and learn about the great opportunities available with the 219th Security Forces Squadron.

The 219th Security Forces Squadron is located in Minot, but it is part of the North Dakota Air National Guard’s Wing which is located in Fargo. The primary mission of the 219th Security Forces Squadron is to provide Global Strike Command with a nuclear security surge force capability during heightened operational requirements. Guard Airmen work side by side with active-duty Airmen at Minot Air Force Base. Airmen in these positions have a reduced likelihood of involuntary deployment. This can be appealing to some, but Airmen who want to deploy may have the opportunity to do so. Full-time opportunities are also available.

Individuals are required to complete Basic Military Training (8 ½ weeks) followed by Technical Training (13 weeks) at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.  An additional three months of active duty training in Minot is required after technical training. Upon completion of all initial training, Guardsmen train one weekend a month and two weeks a year.

Educational benefits include 100% tuition assistance at North Dakota state colleges and $356/month Montgomery G.I. Bill. You may qualify for a $20,000 cash enlistment bonus and $350/month G.I. Bill Kicker. Other benefits include excellent pay, non-contributory retirement, low-cost insurance, and the opportunity to serve your community, state, and country.
