The North Dakota State Fairgrounds will host Motor Magic, Labor Day weekend, August 31-September 2, 2012 in Minot. The largest motorsports event in the Upper Midwest, Motor Magic provides entertainment for auto enthusiasts of all ages.
Drag racing on the Magic City International Dragway at 5:00 p.m. will kick off the motor mayhem on Friday, August 31 and will also have races starting at 9am Sept 1 and 9:30am Sept. 2 . An Enduro Race, Friday evening at 7:30pm will take place in front of the North Dakota State Fair Grandstand. Other weekend events include a Motorcycle Fun Run, the SCCA Autocross and two nights of Nodak Speedway Racing on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 & 2.
Motor enthusiasts can visit the Historic Military Vehicle Display, Paintable Doodle Van and the Dakota Cruisers Classic Car Show. Attendees can even bid on one of the more than 70 Classic Cars at the Motor Magic Classic Car Auction. In addition to this, the 3rd Annual Pedal Car Auction will also be taking place. The pedal cars have been customized by area body shops and will be on display at the Classic Car Auction where they will be auctioned off at 4 pm on Saturday, Sept 1. All proceeds from the pedal car auction will be donated directly to the Souris Valley United Way to be included in their 2012 campaign.
New for 2012, a rollover simulator will be sponsored by the ND Highway Patrol. Frankly Scarlet, a local cover band, will also be performing Saturday, September 1 at 8pm in the Carousel Pub. For a full schedule of events, visit www.motormagic.net/schedule.
