Alligators, Tree Trolls and Bears! Oh My!

Find everything from racing pigs to alligators, not in the same cage, of course, in the free entertainment covering the Fairgrounds every hour and every day of the 2012 North Dakota State Fair!

Swampmaster Alligator ShowStage 1, Swampmaster Alligator Show: Starring an eight-foot 200 pound alligator and the Swampmaster, this show has three shows daily at 2, 4:30 and 7:30pm. Stop by anytime from noon to 8pm to see the alligator on display.

Kid’s Kingdom: Sponsored by Trinity Health, Kids Kingdom buzzes with excitement everyday from 11am -9pm as pint-size carnival rides, pony rides, a giant sandbox and clowns keep children entertained throughout the Fair. Ticket purchase is required for carnival and pony rides.

Stage 2, Jukebox Junkie: Sponsored by the Better Business Bureau, the stage stays busy every day and almost every hour of the Fair! Diva’sDivas Through the Decades Through the Decades will be the star attraction calling the stage home from July 20-24. These ladies perform a musical tribute to some of the most influential female vocalists of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today. Take a journey through time and experience these artists’ great contribution to American music. The Us Band will round out the Fair July 25, 26, and 28. This two piece variety act features Oldies, Rock, Country, R&B alongside guitar and fiddle. This show is full of surprises, comedy and even fire-eating! Dean and the Badlands Express will take over the stage on Friday, July 27.


Welde’s Big Bear Show

Stage 3, Welde’s Big Bear Show: Presented by Bremer Bank, this display will showcase enormous, intelligent Grizzly
Bears. John and Monica Welde along with their three children share their love of bears while educating and entertaining visitors. There will be three shows daily at 1:30, 4 and 7pm.

Stage 4, Daryl’s Racing Pigs: Cheer on your favorite little piggy at 12:30, 3, and 5:30pm.

Stage 5, Cock-a-Doodle Zoo: Sponsored by the Grand International and open from 11am to 9pm this year’s petting zoo will feature unique farm animals and even a live dairy cow for kid’s to milk at 12, 2, 4 and 6pm!

Play With Gravity Motorcycle StuntsStage 7, Play with Gravity Motorcycle Stunt Show: Watch these riders go full throttle as they complete stunts showcasing balance, finesse and complete control of their specially-built motorcycles. Sponsored by the Vegas Motel, these riders will perform at 1, 3:30, 6:30 and 8pm daily.

Flickertail Gardens Stage: Brought to you by Personnel Services, Glen Everhart’s Musical Variety Show will bring this one man comedy and musical act, combining his hilarious songs and stories with marvelous musicianship and audience participation. He’ll perform at 2, 4, and 6pm July 20-23. When comic ventriloquist David Malmberg takes the stage he doesn’t come alone. Performing July 24-28 at 2, 4, and 6pm he can make sounds and voices appear out of virtually anywhere. This stage will also feature two unique bands from 5-6pm and 9:30pm – 1am. Slamabama will be taking the stage July 20-25 and Face for Radio will be ready to rock out July 26-28.

Carousel Pub: The Flickertail Gardens and Jukebox Junkie Stages  won’t be the only places jamming with free music. The Carousel Pub, located inside the Grandstand will also be offering a mixture of bands. If an air conditioned, afternoon retreat is what you’re looking for, Melissa Spelchen (July 20-21) and Eden Parker (July 26-28) will be found in the Pub from 4-7pm. If the term “night owl” suits your personality better, The Great Outdoors (July 20-25) and Ashley Hewitt (July 26-28) will make the pub their home from 9:30pm – 1am.
