There were several photos that really showed the affect that the flood had on the Fair. This photo of the 4-H and FFA barn filled with water was one that definitely told the story of having to cancel all 4-H and FFA activities at the Fair. At its deepest the water got to about four feet in this barn.
The good news is that it’s been about three months and the barn has been cleaned up, repaired and is ready to go for the 2012 Fair! We are looking forward to welcoming back our 4-H and FFA friends. Damage to the North Dakota State Fairgrounds will total more than $6 million dollars. 19 of the Fair’s 21 buildings were inundated by water. Prior to the 2012 North Dakota State Fair each building will have been cleaned, sanitized and repaired.
