ND State Fair wins International Awards

The North Dakota State Fair has received three first place Competitive Exhibit Awards of Excellence from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) headquartered in Springfield, MO.

The North Dakota State Fair received awards in the following categories: Interactive Competitive Exhibit, General Competitive Exhibit Display Photo and Competitive Exhibit Display Photo Series. “It’s great to be recognized for the emphasis and focus that we place on competitive exhibits. We work hard to showcase the best of North Dakota and it’s great to have that dedication recognized,” said Manager, Renae Korslien. The North Dakota State Fair was also the recipient of an overall Best of Division trophy.  “As a staff we take great pride in knowing that our event has been selected for this prestigious honor,” stated Korslien.

The North Dakota State Fair also was awarded two agriculture awards for Overall Program for Competitive Agriculture Exhibitors and Fair and Sponsor Joint Exhibit Program. The Fair received two communication awards for its 2010 advertising campaign. Awards received were for Black and White Newspaper Advertisement and External printed Newsletter. “Our advertising agency, KKBOLD, designed and produced a really great concept for the 2010 State Fair, which was used in both of the winning advertising pieces,” said Shannon Pearson, Marketing Director.

The awards were presented during the 120th annual IAFE Convention held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The entries are evaluated and judged by a team of industry leaders, selected from the membership of the IAFE.
