The North Dakota State Fairgrounds will host Motor Magic, today through Monday, September 6 in Minot. Motor Magic is the largest motorsports event in the Upper Midwest, Motor Magic provides entertainment for auto enthusiasts of all ages.
Drag racing on the Magic City International Dragway at 6:00 p.m. will kick off the motor mayhem on Friday, September 3 and will also have races at 10am on September 4, 5 and 6. A Demo Derby Saturday and an Enduro Race Sunday will take place at noon in front of the new North Dakota State Fair Grandstand. Other weekend events include a Motorcycle Bug Run, go-carts, mini-golf, the SCCA Auto Cross and two nights of Nodak Speedway Racing on Saturday and Sunday, September 4 & 5.
Motor enthusiasts can visit the Historic Military Vehicle Display, Vintage & Racing Snowmobile Display and the Dakota Cruisers Classic Car Show. Attendees can even bid on one of the more than 70 Classic Cars at the Motor Magic Classic Car Auction. New for 2010, there will be a custom pedal car auction. The pedal cars have been customized by area body shops and will be on display at the Classic Car Auction where they will be auctioned off at 4 pm on Saturday, Sept 4. All proceeds from the pedal car auction will be donated directly to the Souris Valley United Way to be included in their 2010 campaign.
Back for 2010 is the Simulated Impaired Driving Experience or (SIDNE), sponsored by the Dakota Cruisers. This battery-powered vehicle has a delay in its reaction time, simulating the effects of impairment from driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
