The Souris Valley United Way and Motor Magic gave local body shops and organizations the opportunity to show-off their design skills by customizing a pedal car. The pedal cars are on display in the community at area businesses and community functions, you can also see all of the cars at the United Way’s website. The pedal cars will also be on display at the Motor Magic Classic Car Auction (MMCCA) during Labor Day weekend where they will be auctioned off at 4 pm on Saturday, Sept 4th during Motor Magic in the State Fair Center.
All proceeds from the pedal car auction will be donated directly to the SVUW to be included in their 2010 campaign. The MMCCA is providing the venue for the auction a ND licensed auctioneer, and a ND licensed clerk at no cost to SVUW. “We see this as a really fun opportunity and excellent fundraising project for our organization,” commented SVUW Executive Director, Patricia Smith.
Souris Valley United Way’s vision in fulfilling basic human needs encompasses our entire community, bringing us all together for the purpose of assisting with food, shelter, wellness, dignity, self-worth and the opportunity to be independent.
