Contestant preview number three for the LIVE Amateur Cake Decorating Contest is Tracy Fitzpatrick! Tracy has been baking since before she can remember. She always thought of herself as adventurous with baking because she liked to try complicated recipes and try new things. Tracy continues to challenge herself with complicated recipes for pies and cakes. Within the last couple of years, Tracy has done more personable designs instead of original cake pan designs. She educates herself by watching television shows and researching on the internet.
Tracy is from Minot and is currently employed as the head teller at Dacotah Bank. Tracy is married and has a three year old daughter.
One of Tracy’s most unique creations is a golf cart cake. She made this golf cart on the grass by hole number 13 as a 13th birthday cake. The cake was made with sucker sticks for structure, buttercream frosting and fondant decoration.
The fourth and final contestant preview for the LIVE Amateur Cake Decorating Contest is Jennifer Rath from Velva, ND.
Jennifer began baking about three years ago when she made a cake for her eldest son’s fourth birthday.Jennifer’s best creations have been done with wedding cakes and creating a motorcross cake. Jennifer has worked with bridal colors and simple flowers to go with a traditional look, but she has also done contemporary designs. Jennifer takes ideas from wherever she can, from magazines to cake decorating books. Jennifer enjoys baking and decorating her own cakes because it is more fun for her than buying them in the store!
Jennifer and her husband moved from Iowa about five years ago to Velva, where they raise their seven year old son and four year old twins son and daughter. She is employed by Souris Valley Care Center in Velva as a physical therapist.
The LIVE Amateur Cake Decorating contest will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, July 25 in the State Fair Lobby. If you like the cake shows on TV, this is the chance for you to see, in person, how the decorating can be done and gives you the chance to vote for your favorite cake!
