The second contestant preview for the LIVE Amateur Cake Decorating Contest is Tami Helmers of Mandan, ND. Tami first became interested in cake decorating in high school and bought her first Wilton basic set and one cake pan. She became more serious about learning the Wilton cake decorating method and attended courses in Bismarck. Her passion of cake decorating has given her a hobby that she can share with friends and family.
Tami is married to her husband, Jim, and they have three children who are 26, 18, and 16. She is currently employed at Legacy Resources in Mandan.
Some of Tami’s proudest works include a wedding cake, soccer field cake, and numerous special event cakes.
The LIVE Amateur Cake Decorating contest will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, July 25 in the State Fair Lobby. If you like the cake shows on TV, this is the chance for you to see, in person, how the decorating can be done and gives you the chance to vote for your favorite cake!
