North Dakota’s Got Talent

The North Dakota State Fair is searching for the Region’s most talented individuals. Those who can entertain a crowd are invited to showcase at the Fair this summer. There are a number of different ways to get involved, many of which include prizes, cash and even a chance at stardom!

The Amateur Talent competition is Wednesday, July 28th at 2pm on Stage 2. Cash prizes will be rwarded to the top three winners in the junior and senior divisions with $300 awarded to first place, $200 to 2nd place and $125 to third place. Only the first 15 applications in each division will be accepted and each competitor will receive a pair of concert tickets.

Local dancers, singers, musicians, comedians, community performance groups and more will find a home on the Dakota Talent Stage in the SRT State Fair Park. Entertainers should call the NDSF office at 857-7620 to schedule a performance time. Fairgoers can also take part in the daily Crowd Pleasers Karaoke contest, sponsored by Integrity Viking Funds, on the Dakota Talent Stage twice daily at 7pm and 10:45pm; registration takes place minutes before the competitions. Daily winners receive 2010 State Fair t-shirts.

The Colgate Country Showdown, sponsored by Sunny 101.9 Radio, is another chance for local musicians to win cash prizes. Winners will also advance to the state competition for the opportunity to perform at the regional level. The Colgate Showdown will be held July 25th at 1pm on the Flickertail Gardens stage.
