The staff of the State Fair is busy planning for 2011 and in doing so the Marketing Team is busy securing sponsors for this year’s event. Last year the Fair had more than 80 sponsors who made monetary or in-kind investments to help support the State Fair’s many programs and activities. “The opportunities available for businesses who are looking to target our 300,000 Fair visitors are endless,” commented Shannon Pearson, Marketing Director. “The Fair’s many events allow us to target and segment attendees throughout different areas of the Fair.” The Fair puts an emphasis on satisfying the marketing goals and objectives of its sponsors. “When planning the sponsorships, we make sure the needs of our sponsors are met and that our sponsorships are a logical investment ,”added Jennifer Ashley, Assistant Marketing Director.
The State Fair continues to be the largest annual event held in the state and an ideal marketing platform for sponsors to target a lucrative North Dakota market. State Fair sponsors are viewed by nearly half the state’s population in only nine days. No other medium or event can offer this type of exposure to a captive audience. In addition to this incredible amount of exposure, sponsors receive a variety of benefits, including a sponsor’s reception and concert tickets. The promotional benefits available depend on the type of event being sponsored. With the creation of the North Dakota State Fair Foundation, donations can also be made tax free through the Foundation’s 501(c)3 status.
